Volunteering

Volunteering is an activity that a person undertakes of their own free will, without expecting any payment or material benefits, either direct or indirect, for the benefit of others or the common good.

Volunteers have the right to:

• Be informed in advance about the organization, the content and conditions of volunteering, and the rights and duties that apply to them by law or according to the general regulations of the volunteer organization.
• Receive a certificate for the volunteering carried out.
• Be informed about the organization's ethical principles and other ethical rules relevant to specific volunteering activities.
• Receive appropriate training for volunteering and other related training.
• Have a mentor who provides professional support and assistance during the volunteering period.
• Be guaranteed safety during training and the execution of volunteer activities, especially in situations that could endanger their safety, life, or health.
• Participate in decisions that affect volunteering.
• Refuse tasks they find morally unacceptable or contrary to legal provisions.
• Receive reimbursement for agreed expenses incurred during volunteering.
• Submit requests for compliance with obligations or cessation of rights violations to the management of the volunteer organization or program.
• Have their personal data protected in accordance with data protection laws.

Volunteer duties include:

• Fulfilling the obligations specified in the volunteer agreement.
• Participating in any required training as outlined in the agreement.
• Performing volunteer tasks diligently according to professional standards, ethical principles, and instructions provided by the organization.
• Respecting the operational rules of the organization.
• Maintaining confidentiality regarding the sensitive information of the organization and personal data encountered during volunteering.
• Providing reports on the activities carried out.
